Single parents represent a unique and often very disadvantaged and under-resourced stage of life. It's tough enough to just get by in South County. Add to that a single income, children, working parents, rising costs, relational challenges ... it's just tough.
And that's why we have a huge desire to express the grace and goodness of Christ to this life stage in particular. That's what One Step is all about. One Step is constantly in the process of thinking of new ways to resource single parents -- from providing housing through host homes or a 9-month transitional house to workshops and skills training to back-to-school clothing vouchers, to access to food resources and more. There are so many ways to get involved, both as a recipient and as a contributor.
